As Dubai Music Week kicks off Wednesday, we sift through the line up and pick the seven you definitely should not miss. While stars Jason Derulo, Ellie Goulding and Thirty Seconds to Mars will be headlining on the main stage, you should hit the Du Live! & HTC festival stage for these great emerging artists:
1. Tim Hassal
We've watched Tim live before, and we assure you – he does not disappoint! This charismatic performer with a voice that will melt your heart is a performance you need to see.
2. Citizen
Up-and-coming rapper Citizen teamed up with producer Abaiz Shaikh and released his first mixtape, The Backstage Theory, last June. Nas and Talib Kweli fans should definitely check Citizen's slot on Thursday.
3. Andy Buchan
Let loose with a little electronica from Dubai's best resident DJ who was responsible for bringing greats like Calvin Harris, Pendulum, and Belle & Sebastian to his award-winning alternative nights, See You Next Friday.
4. Pimms Brooke
This acoustic singer from North London isn't like any other you've seen. Mixing jazz and soul with more avant-garde performances, we'll definitely be waiting eagerly to see Pimms Brooke perform.
5. Muhaisnah Four
Chillwave/synthpop artist Muhaisnah Four based in Dubai will be taking you on different journeys through sound and sight.
Only 14, Saffron Collins has already released an EP, titled "How's That," with four original tracks written and sung by her. Heads up to all you indie rock fans, this is an act to look out for!
7. Fat Randall
Punk rock trio Fat Randall from Dubai will be hitting the stage on Friday to perform some of their classic hits such as "Joanna."
