As students graduate from high school and move on to university and adulthood, they begin to meet new, and sometime offbeat characters and individuals.

After all, university is a place that brings people from diverse different backgrounds together - weaving memorable experiences that last a lifetime.

While you may meet hundreds of fellow students throughout your college years, you will most probably meet a few common characters.

Here's a handy guide to the 7 different types of people you will end up meeting at university.

1. The gossip addict

This person basically feeds off of any piece of news or rumor flying around. He or she - because yes, there are some major gossip dudes out there - will become the go-to person if you ever feel like you're out of touch with social happenings.

Be warned though, they will spread any information they can extract from you. It is their way of thriving and surviving. So take care not to mention anything of importance near this creature.

Keep your friends close, and your gossipers closer.

2. The fashionista

This individual sees college as a fashion runway. While many students may opt for the same sweater 3 days a week, this fashion star changes outfits more frequently than you change your underwear.

Oftentimes, you envy this person, as they somehow find the time to look photoshoot ready and still make it to class on time ...

As for you? Well you're the one struggling to get out of bed.

3. The professor's door mat

Usually referred to as the teacher's pet in school, this person has honed their craft by the time they got to college and reached a higher level of ass kissing by becoming the professors door mat

They are always seated in the middle of the front row, making sure they are always in the professor's eyesight. They also tend to wait for the tutor outside the lecture hall so that they can greet them as they enter the room.

Unsurprisingly, they are also the first person out of their seat as soon as class is dismissed, accompanying the professor out of the classroom and tending to any of their needs.

They might share a few words of gratitude every now and then and thank them for the unparalleled knowledge they share with their students.

4. The "forever stressed" one

Now this person always seems to have a never ending list of things to do, at all times and at every place. They always seem to be contemplating how much work they have, how little time they have to finish that work and how they can't cope with all the stress.

Yet, what makes you very suspicious about this individual is that they always tend to finish they're assignments and work before deadlines.

Kudos.

5. The "I come to college to socialize" one

This social butterfly can always be found on campus, but rarely in class. They come to college primarily to hang out and savor the social sphere. You'll find them with a different group of people every time you see them - sometimes with your own group of friends too.

This person is your best pick for recommendations for good hangout spots and having a good time, but avoid them at all costs when picking a group for a project or an assignment.

You'll have a hard time pulling them from their socializing sessions, and an even harder time getting them to shut up and work.

6. The athletic one

This would be the person who's always in workout attire, even if they're just coming to attend a couple of lectures. In addition to having a gym bag slung across their back at all times, they're also very likely to show up with injuries every so often.

Their conversations usually revolve around 3 things: the gym, the sport club, or the latest event they are competing at.
