According to the Dubai Police Traffic Department, Emirates Road is the most dangerous road in Dubai. 

It had the highest number of fatalities in the first half of 2017, followed by Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

The latest statistics from Dubai Police’s Traffic Department also recorded 75 deaths in the first half of 2017, compared to 112 deaths in the first half of 2016. 

Overall road deaths are down in the first half of this year, in comparison to the same period last year.

"The number of road fatalities went down this year due to an increase in road security control and our efforts in raising awareness about traffic rules violations," Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police told Gulf News.

Based on the number of accidents and fatalities in 2017, here are the 5 most dangerous roads in Dubai:

1. Emirates Road (E611)

2. Sheikh Zayed Road (E11)

3. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311)

4. Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66)

5. Al Khail Road (E44)
