Celebrities come from all parts of the world. Here are a few that you probably had no idea had some Jordanian heritage!
1. The Hadid's
Wikipedia says the Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid are all American with Palestinian decent. But if you dig a little deeper you'll discover that their father, Mohamad Hadid, holds dual citizenship and so does the rest of the clan. Hadid moved to Syria after fleeing Palestine during the establishment of the Israeli state, he finally settled in Jordan before moving to the United States at the age of 18-years-old. Mohamad Hadid also represented Jordan at the 1992 Winter Olympics and no one has ever competed since.
2. Ayah Marar
The voice behind some of Calvin Harris's most famous songs like Flashback (even though she was uncredited) and Thinking About You, Marar comes from a Jordanian family. She was born and raised in Amman until the age of 17, when she moved to the United Kingdom for university. She shared an apartment with Calvin Harris after graduating and then the rest is history!
3. King Deco
Her name may be familiar to some, this young Jordanian woman is well on her way to become an A-lister in the music business. Also born and raised in Jordan, King Deco was named as one of MTV's favorite artists to look out for. Releasing hit after hit, we can't wait to see what this Jordanian has in store for us next!
4. Nadim Sawalha
Known for his roles in the James Bond movies: "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "The Living Daylights," Nadim Sawalha is actually the brother of comedian Nabil Sawalha. Nadim moved to UK in the 1950s and since then has had a career spanning 40 years with appearances in films. His daughter Julia Sawalha is known for her role in "Absolutely Fabulous."
