After Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced in mid September that Facebook will add its long awaited 'dislike' button, the move was met with a wide variety of public reactions.
While some think it will be a great way to express empathy in circumstances when it is considered insensitive to 'like' a post, others think it will just be used as a new method for Internet trolling.
That would probably be the case for Egyptians, as their famous comedic sense always manages to find humor and sarcasm in anything. These are 10 predictions for how the ever-funny Egyptians would react to the 'dislike' button.
1. Add more fuel to the Ahly and Zamalek fire
There's a dislike button, you say? Then let's dislike every post our football opponents share every time they win a match, or even when they don't, that's OK too.
2. Win the argument in the comment section like a boss
If there's a button for disliking what you disagree with, then keeping score in all those comment arguments will be so much easier. The most dislikes versus the most likes, it's a brave new world.
3. Settle who's the real king of Egyptian music
The Mohamed Mounir and Amr Diab fandoms will finally be able to battle it out online in style.
4. Dislike every post at first just to try it out
New social-networking features were created to be tired and therefore, they must be tried a lot. It's just like breaking in a new pair of shoes!
5. Help out Vodafone and Etisalat with their rivalry
"This is the next step," but Vodafone and Etisalat don't have to troll each other in Ramadan commercials anymore, their users and avid fans will just do that for them on Facebook.
6. Create endless memes mocking the use of the 'dislike' button
Egyptians would probably not only hilariously use the 'dislike' button, but also sarcastically mock their own use of the 'dislike' button.
7. Dislike friends' posts of wise inspirational quotes

Instead of just making fun of them in the comment section, the new button will allow them a much quicker and perhaps more effective way to do that.
8. Dislike friends' photos in which the dis-liker doesn't like how they look

There will finally be a way to punish people for tagging their friends in photos where they look great and their friends just don't.
9. Dislike random posts just out of boredom
Just like we tend to 'like' every post we see when we are boringly scrolling through our news feed, the 'dislike' button could see a similar trend.
10. Add another dimension to celebrity feuds
What will an angry and devoted fan do when their idol is fighting with someone on the Internet? Dislike everything they post or share, obviously.
