Tourists are enthusiastic, they enjoy documenting their experiences around the world and they love taking photos that say "look at where I am today! Just look at how awesome my photo ideas are!"

Unfortunately for some of these tourists though (and fortunately for us), sometimes these "creative" photos end up sending completely different signals to the viewers, leaving them in laughter instead of in awe.

Egypt's Great Pyramids of Giza, arguably the most famous ancient landmark in the world, has witnessed way too many of these attempts.

These are 10 examples of the ridiculous and totally hilarious photos people take at the Pyramids.

1. The Sphinx make-out session

We're pretty sure the ancient Egyptians had a different idea in mind when they thought of how future generations would react to the Sphinx.

2. The casual side lean

Just having a casual day, casually leaning on an ancient Egyptian Pyramid, it's no big deal.

3. The Photoshop fail

Here's a challenge: Let's see who can find the most wrong things with this caption: "Turns out these stones are really light. This is how they built the pyramids."

4. The attempt to move the Pyramids

Have you ever been to a great historical site and just wished you could take it home with you? That's just what they were thinking too!

5. The Egyptian - but not actually Egyptian - walk

That's exactly how Khufu walked when he visited his magnificent pyramid for the first time.

6. The master of the universe shot

This is the classic "I'm on top of the world and these ancient structures are just at my fingertips" photo.

7. The camel selfie gone wrong

Camels at the pyramids aren't that fond of surprise selfies. Just stop trying to impose selfies on them.

8. The staged hug

Why lean on the Pyramid when you can just hug it?

9. The self-centered shot

It's not clear if he was trying to hug the Pyramid and then realized hugging the air would be better or if he just likes to be center stage. Either way, people can't really see the pyramid here.

10. The staring contest
