Social media is a wonderful place where you can voice your opinions and meet other interesting people, but when it comes to Instagram, it's really 90 percent about building your own image. In our search for the perfect #aesthetic, we've all made the mistake of posting these photos on instagram.
1. The motivational post
Usually accompanied with an extremely long caption that emphasises the image, which no one even reads.
2. The deep monochrome post
This shows that although you're posting this to Instagram, you're really deep and retro, and like, totally artistic.
3. The "look how many friends I have" post
This could your birthday or just another Saturday night, and you might not even like everyone in the photo, but you sure as hell are gonna post that group photo and tag so many people that no one can actually see anyone's name.
4. The aspiring fashionista post
You might not go as far as captioning this #OOTD, but you really want people to know how on point your outfit is, and that although you look like a mess every day, you can clean up nice.
5. The gym selfie
These are extremely unsolicited, and it will not make people admire you, but rather hate you a little for seeming to have your life together. That is what you want though, deep down you want to look like you have your life together.
6. The family selfie
This shows that you're not only a popular and positive gym buddy, but you're also a family person! Yes, you have priorities, and put #familyfirst. This will be the first and last photo you have with a family member though...
7. The selfie with an unrelated caption
Want an excuse to post a selfie you're really digging yourself in? Just Google "deep quotes" and you've got yourself the perfect selfie. The comments will also ignore the caption, of course, and focus on what matters: How on fleek you are in this photo.
8. The party post
Yes, you're fun! You go out! You not only Snapchat your Saturday night, you also screenshot your snaps and post them to Instagram because everyone must know that you're not alone at home binge watching Friends, you're impressive because you party.
9. The nature post
You went out into nature once, stood somewhere, and asked your friend to take your photo. With enough filters, you managed to make it look like something impressive, and now you're an #adventurer
10. The "look at my food post"
"I cooked today, and although it may taste terrible, it looks nice so please, please be impressed!"
